Missing 12-year-old boy found safe, deputies say

ORANGE PARK, Fla. – A 12-year-old boy who was reported missing Tuesday morning when his mother woke up and found he was not in his bed was found safe just before 11:30 a.m., Clay County deputies said.

The boy was reported missing on Tanglewood Boulevard, which is in the Lakeside area of Orange Park.

He has been returned safely to his family.

He was found in the Tanglewood neighborhood not far from where he was reported missing, and no foul play was involved, deputies said.

Investigators said it appears there was a miscommunication between the boy and his family about where he was supposed to be and where he was.

When the boy was found by first responders, he was unaware there was an ongoing search for him, deputies said.
