LAKE CITY, Fla. – On the morning of September 25, 2020, workers mowing the grass near an overpass on NW Railroad Street, not far from downtown Lake City, discovered a body.
The Medical Examiners Officer in Jacksonville later identified the Black woman as 42-year-old Mary Frances Schroeder. The circumstances of her death were not released by investigators.
Nearly two years later, the Lake City Police Department is asking for the public’s help as the evidence collected from the scene has yet to lead to an arrest.
