JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One of Florida’s largest nonprofit food banks is hosting a food distribution event for food insecure Floridians on Jacksonville’s Eastside Friday and in the New Town neighborhood on Saturday.

Farm Share works with local farmers to recover and redistribute produce that the farmers would discard because of aesthetic imperfections.

Recipients can receive fresh produce and canned goods on Friday from 9 a.m. until supplies last at Kooker Park at 2902 Bennett St., Jacksonville, 32206.

The Friday distribution is with God Children’s Ministry.

The Saturday distribution is with West Union Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until supplies last at 1605 W Beaver St., Jacksonville, 32209.

Distributions are drive-thru only and attendees must arrive in a vehicle with a trunk or cargo bed.
