Troopers chase 18-year-old accused of stealing SUV, crashing on I-95 near Bowden Road

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An 18-year-old is accused of stealing a sports utility vehicle Monday morning and leading the Florida Highway Patrol on a chase along Interstate 95.
According to the FHP report, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office contacted troopers to let them know about the stolen vehicle driving north on I-95 near mile marker 306.
Troopers saw the vehicle on the interstate near Old St. Augustine Road and chased behind it, the report said. The man led police on a pursuit until he crashed into a U-Haul truck on I-95, just south of Bowden Road, FHP said.
The 18-year-old then left the vehicle and ran, causing troopers to follow.
The man was eventually caught and arrested.
