Woman hit, killed while lying in parking lot in front of warehouse in Palatka
PALATKA, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly accident that occurred in the parking lot of Beck Wholesale Parts in Palatka. The crash report shows a man driving a van through the parking lot ran over a woman who was lying in the lot around 9:30 p.m. Thursday. Investigators wrote that they don’t know why the woman was there. There was no age or city listed for the woman who was killed. Bradford County man booked into Clay County jail on DUI manslaughter charge
A 26-year-old man was booked Tuesday afternoon into the Clay County jail on a charge of DUI manslaughter. According to an FHP report from Oct. 11, 2015, Joshua Gabriel Barron was driving on State Road 21 near Keystone Heights just after midnight when he crossed the center line and struck a car head-on. That driver died and Barron was seriously injured. Troopers at the time were investigating whether alcohol was involved in the crash. Barron’s last known address is in Starke.

FHP: Deadly crash on I-95
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash on I-95 near Emerson Street, Thursday night. Florida Highway Patrol says a car driving in the center lane heading northbound moved in front of a tractor-trailer. The truck crashed into the back of the car, flipping it before it came to a stop on the interstate’s shoulder. According to Highway Patrol, the male driver and female passenger were both ejected from the car. Northbound lanes are back open on I-95, after being shut down for roughly five hours.
FHP: Car plunges into river after crash on Dames Point Bridge
A car that went off the Dames Point Bridge Saturday night was pulled out of the river Sunday morning. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A car was pulled out of the St. Johns River Sunday morning after the vehicle went over the side of the concrete wall of the Dames Point Bridge following a crash Saturday night with another car in the southbound lanes, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers said the 27-year-old driver of the vehicle that went over the side was able to exit his vehicle and had only minor injuries. All southbound lanes on I-295 were closed for an hour while the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department got the driver out of the water and police cleared the scene. The next morning, the vehicle that went off the side of the bridge was pulled from the water.
Driver who left I-10 in Baker County pulled from creek
GLEN ST. MARY, Fla. – A car drove off Interstate 10 just east of the Glen St Mary exit in Baker County at midday Wednesday and went into Little St. Marys River. The driver, a woman who troopers believe may have had a medical issue behind the wheel, was rescued from the water and treated at the scene. There was a second crash on I-10 after the initial incident. This story will be updated when FHP releases its preliminary report.
