4 dogs die, 2 rescued during ‘suspicious’ house fire in Longbranch neighborhood

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Four dogs died on Tuesday morning following a house fire in the Longbranch neighborhood, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department (JFRD).

JFRD said the fire is being considered suspicious and state fire investigators were called.

The Red Cross is helping the family of three who live in the home and were able to escape.

No firefighters were hurt, JFRD said, and two other dogs were saved from the blaze.
