The Weather Authority tracks strong to severe storms on Weather Alert Day

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Tornado Watch for the area expired around 2:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon after a “dangerous tornado” was seen near World Golf Village just before noon and left behind damage.

Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia were in the path of very strong to severe storms. The Weather Authority closely monitored the radar from very early Thursday morning through early afternoon as the storms moved across the area from the west to the east.
