7-year-old child dead after ATV overturns on him in Putnam County

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. – A 7-year-old child died after an ATV overturned on him at the Hog Waller Mud Bog and ATV Park in Putnam County , according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The ATV was being driven by an adult with the child sitting behind him just after 2 p.m. Sunday.
Officials said the ATV overturned while making a sharp turn. The ATV then landed on the child as he struck a tree stump.
The child was taken to the hospital where he died, according to investigators.
The 32-year-old man driving the ATV suffered minor injuries.
Both the child and the driver are from Reddick, Florida. Neither was wearing a helmet, FHP said.
