DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol said that one person died, and two children, aged 4 and 7, were seriously injured in a crash on US-301 near Baldwin on Thursday morning.
The agency said the deadly crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. when a blue Honda sedan, which was being driven by a 59-year-old woman from Baldwin and had the children as passengers, drove straight across the northbound lanes of US-301, near Summerfield Lane, to pull into a grass median before crashing with a grey Ford pickup truck.

The 59-year-old woman died at the scene, FHP said. The children, who were from Macclenny, both had their seatbelts on at the time of the crash.
The pickup truck’s driver, a 28-year-old woman from Callahan, also sustained serious injuries after the crash, FHP said.
Around 11 a.m., all northbound lanes were blocked near Summerfield Lane.
An hour later, the roadway was clear.
