Jacksonville man charged with DUI manslaughter in deaths of 2 motorcyclists in 2022

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 73-year-old man has been charged with two counts of DUI manslaughter in connection with a deadly motorcycle crash in November 2022.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, a Cadillac CTS and a Honda motorcycle were stopped at a red light at the intersection of Southside and Beach boulevards just after 9 p.m. on Nov. 4, 2022.

The report said a Nissan Sentra plowed into the motorcycle from behind, crushing it against the CTS.

Both riders, a 49-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman, died at the hospital.

The driver of the Sentra was later identified as Thomas Dukes, who was charged in the crash.

Neither Dukes nor the 41-year-old driver of the CTS were injured. Both were wearing seat belts.
