JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Naval Air Station Jacksonville (NAS Jacksonville) welcomed thousands of spectators Saturday who enjoyed the first day of the Air Show.
The base reached its capacity just before 2 p.m. when NAS Jacksonville announced it would not be allowing further admittance to the Air Show because the parking lot had been filled.

For hours, pilots took to the skies to showcase their skills. While it was windy, that didn’t get in the way as thousands lined up along the runway to take it all in.
“I think you have to be pretty a special type of person to be able to try and accomplish it. That’s pretty exciting,” Jess Colwell said.
The show brought back the amazing Blue Angels to their birthplace in Jacksonville.
“I’m just looking forward to the excitement of it. There’s nothing like it,” Corey Rudd said.
The gates will reopen at 9 a.m. Sunday and the show will begin at 11 a.m. The grand finale will be the Navy’s flight demonstration team, The Blue Angels, who will begin at 2:30 p.m.

The show is completely free. Spectators should bring their ID with them to get on base.
