Driver dies after crashing into back of stopped JTA bus

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man in his 50s died on Thursday morning after the car he was driving slammed into the back of a JTA bus that was stopped at a bus stop, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO said the crash happened just after 11 a.m. on University Boulevard near Ft. Caroline Road.

A passenger on the bus suffered a minor injury.

JSO said the man’s death marked the 149th traffic death in Duval County this year.
