Jacksonville woman in critical condition after rescue at Atlantic Beach

ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. – A Jacksonville woman in her 20s was rescued from the water in Atlantic Beach on Friday afternoon, the Atlantic Beach Police Department confirmed to News4JAX.

Police said the woman was rescued around 4 p.m. near 10th Street. Witnesses said she appeared to be unresponsive.

Beachgoers attempted CPR until emergency medics arrived.

The woman was taken to the hospital.

Police said she was in stable but critical condition.
