JFRD responds to ammonia leak at Safe Harbor Seafood Market

MAYPORT, Fla. – Jacksonville Fire and Rescue crews had to respond Friday morning to an ammonia leak in Mayport.

The leak was reported at 4371 Ocean Street, which is the address of Safe Harbor Seafood Market.

A JFRD spokesman said the refrigeration system was being worked on when the ammonia leak occurred.

The original call came in around 8:30 a.m., and crews were wrapping up just after noon.
