CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – As Wednesday afternoon storms rolled through Northeast Florida, the impacts were felt in parts of Clay County, with nearly 7,000 power outages reported by the county’s utility .

According to the Clay Electric Cooperative Outage Map, about 6,989 customers near Middleburg were without power as of 5 p.m.
While there is no clear reasoning provided for the outage, the spike in reports came as storms moved through the area, with flood advisories being put into effect between 3 and 4 p.m.
The outage map shows that most of the outages should be resolved by 6:30 p.m.
By 7:45 p.m., all outages were resolved.
Of the over 92,000 customers that the utility serves in the area, the number of those without power equaled about 7% of its customer base, the map showed.
