Neptune Beach names baseball field after officer who died of COVID complications

NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. – The City of Neptune Beach on Saturday renamed the baseball field at Jarboe Park after a retired police officer who died of COVID-19 complications.
The field was renamed to the Eddie Bounds Ball Field at Jarboe Park.
Eddie Bounds is remembered for serving Jacksonville Beach and Neptune Beach for 42 years.
Retired Neptune Beach Police Officer Eddie Bounds (Courtesy of Neptune Beach Police Department) On Aug. 21, 2021, he died from complications related to COVID-19 .
In 2021, the city council issued a resolution honoring Bounds and declaring that Seagate Avenue from A1A to Penman Road be dedicated as “Officer Paul Eddie Bounds-Legacy Lane.”
