PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Crews were working to repair a gas line along A1A in Ponte Vedra Beach Wednesday afternoon.
The Sheriff’s Office said a shelter in place order was issued for residents within a quarter mile of 500 A1A North due to the gas line break.
That shelter in place order was lifted as of 6:30 p.m.
As of 5 p.m., due to the size of the leak, A1A Southbound was expected to be closed for about another 2 hours, according to St. Johns County Fire Rescue.
As of 7 p.m. the road was back open. Repair crews were expected to remain on scene throughout the night.
