His brother Hakeem Robinson and his cousin Leroy Whitaker Jr. were sentenced to life in prison for the murder.
Dominique “Butta” Barner, the getaway driver, testified that he, Robinson Jr., Hakeem Robinson, and Whitaker all drove by McCormick’s address and planned to kill him.
Barner said Hakeem Robinson wanted to kill McCormick for making a diss song against Willie Addison, the stepson of Abdul Robinson Sr., who was killed in a drive-by shooting.
Abdul Robinson Sr. testified that his two sons wanted to pursue McCormick because of the dispute.
