JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect who shot a man multiple times at a bus stop on Jacksonville’s Westside, leaving him in life-threatening condition on Saturday morning.
At around 6:45 a.m., officers responded to 970 Cassat Avenue in reference to a shooting.
Officers said they found a man in his 40s suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department took the man to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Investigators said the suspect approached the man near the bus stop for unknown reasons and shot him. The suspect continued to hit the man until another person pulled him into a nearby dark SUV that fled the scene, JSO said.
Detectives are canvassing the area for surveillance and witnesses.
