Voices of the 904 Ep. 7 - The one-man army cooking with a passion to feed the city that raised him

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – With his apron on, a wide smile, and an expressive — yet unrestricted — cooking style, Chef Kalin Anderson can turn any space into a kitchen and create something out of nothing.

He is the owner of FeedtheVille, and the next guest on “Voices of the 904.“ On this episode, Kalin welcomes us into his kitchen for a live cook-along with candid conversation about his culinary journey and how he uses his artistry to give back to the city that raised him.

EPISODE 6 | Meet Nick - This curator etched his granddad’s musical legacy into the rebirth of 41 E. Duval Street

From childhood to today, transforming a plate into art has always been second nature to Kalin, who prides himself on being a true one-man army.

“I always had a purpose,” he expressed. “I always had a goal of just feeding the city, feeding the world, but you have to start home first.”

While crafting an off-the-cuff shrimp pasta, Kalin opens up about the life-changing moment that led him into full-time entrepreneurship, his bold culinary style that expands people’s palates, and how food builds community — reflected in events like his “Curated by Kalin Anderson!” pop-up.

You can catch him serving up a New York-style menu — done his way — for the Chancho King and FeedtheVille Takeover Part 2 on Friday, Dec. 5, at 1120 Edgewood Ave S from 9 p.m. until midnight.
