Since News4JAX highlighted Queen’s story, her GoFundMe has reached over $12,000. Queen tells us she is extremely grateful for the community and their outpouring of support. But Queen and her family still need housing.

A local church has reached out to News4JAX, offering a home for Queen and her kids to live in as they look for something more permanent in the future.

The home is furnished, but it needs extensive flooring work, like carpet and tile, before Queen and her children can move in.

News4JAX is looking for experienced workers to donate their time to help Queen and her family. If you think you can help get the job done, send an email to our reporter, Sophia Vitello, svitello@wjxt.com to schedule the help and learn more.

The City of Jacksonville has also offered help to Queen, including the first month’s rent and a security deposit; however, so far, Queen has found it difficult to secure a place with realtors, especially because she is out of work due to health conditions like epilepsy.

News4JAX is working on organizing a fundraiser for people to drop off clothing and food items, as we have received many requests for a drop-off location.
