CALLAHAN, Fla. – A secure hold at Callahan Middle School was lifted on Thursday after Nassau County deputies responded to an anonymous bomb threat.
Around 2 p.m., the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office said the middle school was placed on a secure hold while the investigation took place.
By 2:45, the hold was lifted after nothing suspicious was found. Deputies said a thorough sweep of the campus was conducted.
Regular school dismissal procedures will resume, and parents can pick up their children from the school.
“We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation while deputies worked to ensure the safety of students and staff,” the sheriff’s office said.
