NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. – An elderly couple found dead in their Neptune Beach home last October died of accidental carbon monoxide poisoning, according to a medical examiner’s report.
Both the Neptune Beach Police Department and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office were investigating the incident, and authorities said from the beginning it appeared the deaths were accidental.
The medical examiner confirmed that in autopsy reports released this week to News4JAX.
The cause of death for both George and Stewart was listed as “acute carbon monoxide toxicity,” and the manner of death was ruled accidental.
