JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Get ready for a stormy Saturday. Showers and storms will fire up this afternoon and evening, and some of those storms could bring dangerous flooding to low-lying and urban areas — especially along the I-75 corridor.
A handful of those storms could also pack a punch with damaging wind gusts reaching 40-55 mph.
Despite the clouds and rain, it’s still going to feel like summer. Temperatures will top out in the upper 80s near I-75 and climb into the low 90s in other spots. Overnight, expect temperatures to stay warm and muggy, holding in the 70s.
Sunday: More storms, rain totals to watch
Sunday brings another round of unsettled weather. Storms will develop during the day, and some could be strong to severe.
Rainfall will be widespread. However, if storms slow down or repeatedly track over the same area, some spots could see significantly more rain — raising the risk of flooding in low-lying and urban locations.
It will also be a breezy day, with winds out of the southwest at 10-15 mph and gusts up to 20-25 mph ahead of storms. The strongest storms Sunday could produce wind gusts of 40-60 mph.
Temperatures Sunday will be a bit cooler than average, topping out in the mid to upper 80s inland and near 90 degrees along the coast and I-95. Overnight lows will drop to the lower 70s inland and the mid 70s along the coast.
