St. Marys police searching for man who fled from Kingsland Police Department; ask residents to stay inside, lock doors

ST. MARYS, Ga. – The St. Marys Police Department said it is searching for a man accused of fleeing from the Kingsland Police Department and was last seen in the area of Winding Road and Brooklet Circle.

The agency described the man as a “heavier Black male” and has asked residents to stay inside and lock their doors as a precautionary measure.

Police added that the man is wearing only shorts. In an image posted to their Facebook page, the man can be see wearing a beige hat with a wide brim and a brown ring around it.

As a result of the search, Sugarmill Elementary is on lockdown, police said.
