JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man died after being hit by an SUV while riding his minibike early Saturday on Gate Parkway underneath JT Butler Boulevard, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JSO said a man in his early 20s was riding a Coleman minibike southbound in the middle lane of Gate Parkway at approximately 1:10 a.m. when the crash happened.

The SUV was traveling eastbound on JT Butler Boulevard and turned left onto northbound Gate Parkway, leading to the collision in the intersection.
The minibike rider was taken by JFRD to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, JSO confirmed.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with detectives, JSO said.
This incident marks the 25th traffic fatality in Duval County this year, according to JSO.
