JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was killed in a head-on crash Monday night on Jacksonville’s Northside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Police said the crash happened around 8:47 p.m. on Eastport Road.

According to JSO, a man in his late 20s was driving a Dodge SUV eastbound on Eastport Road, while another man was driving a semi on Textile Road.
The semi-truck made a wide right turn to head westbound on Eastport, but as it made the turn, it went into the oncoming eastbound lane, crashing into the SUV head-on.
The SUV driver died at the scene, police said.
According to JSO, the driver of the semi was not injured and was cooperating with detectives.
This crash marked the 33rd traffic fatality in Duval County this year.
