According to the agency, a green Ford pickup truck was heading south on State Road 121 behind a black Ford SUV.
The driver of the black SUV slowed down to make a left turn, but the driver of the green pickup failed to slow down and crashed into the black SUV’s rear, which forced the car into oncoming northbound traffic.
A semi-truck, which was traveling north on State Road 121, then crashed into the right side of the black SUV before rolling over.
The driver of the SUV died at the scene, FHP said. The agency added that the SUV’s driver, a 17-year-old from Lake Butler, was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Troopers said the green pickup came to a final rest on the east shoulder of the roadway, where it caught fire.
The drivers of both the pickup truck and the semi-truck were both listed with serious injuries after the crash.
