Motorcyclist airlifted with critical injuries after crashing into semi on I-75 in Columbia County

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. – A 34-year-old motorcyclist was critically injured Monday after colliding with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 75 in Columbia County, Florida.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the motorcycle was traveling northbound a little after noon near mile marker 429 when it left the roadway onto the east shoulder and struck the rear of a semi that was stopped on the shoulder.

The motorcyclist, of Tennessee, was airlifted with critical injuries.

The truck driver, listed as a 37-year-old man, was not injured, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
