Clay County high school student accused of having loaded gun in car on school grounds

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – A student at Ridgeview High School was arrested and accused on Thursday of having a loaded 9mm semi-automatic pistol in his car, which was parked on school grounds, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said.

Officials said the school’s administration and school resource officer got a tip that the student may have had a weapon in his car.

His car was searched by the school resource officer and the loaded pistol was seized as evidence. The student was charged with possessing the weapon on school property and was taken to the Clay County Jail, the sheriff’s office said.
