JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A family of four was rushed to Jacksonville hospitals after a crash on Saturday in St. Johns County left them with serious injuries, with two being airlifted.
Cody and Rosie Mineur were flown to a Jacksonville hospital while their daughters, Bell and Lily, at just two and five years old, were taken to Wolfson’s Children’s Hospital with multiple bone fractures and internal injuries. The girls are expected to make a full recovery and will be released far earlier than their parents, according to a GoFundMe set up by a family friend.
Cody Mineur needs surgery on his wrist and may need multiple surgeries to rebuild his foot, followed by multiple weeks of physical therapy, the GoFundMe reads. After the crash, Rosie Mineur was able to get out of the car and run to the interstate for help. In the process, part of her left leg was hit by another car and her leg was amputated below the knee.
Danielle Taylor, Cody Mineur’s aunt, said it’s been overwhelming for the family.
“We’re so grateful for the support of the community,” Taylor said. “The tow truck driver said he had never towed a car with such damage where people survived. It’s a miracle.”
Taylor said that Cody and Rosie don’t remember the accident.
“It’s a miracle they’re still alive and we’re dealing with this and not planning funerals,” Taylor said.

“Rosie had an additional surgery this morning to clean up the amputation area and so going forward the two of them will likely be hospitalized until they’re well enough to go to a rehab facility,” Taylor said.
Both work for Hyatt hotels in downtown Jacksonville in the service industry, so the forthcoming medical expenses and childcare are daunting for the family.
