Palatka police identify 55-year-old man fatally shot this week

PALATKA, Fla. – A 55-year-old man was fatally shot Tuesday in Palatka and died the next day, according to police.

The Palatka Police Department said in a social media post that Donald Lowe, of Palatka, sustained injuries during an incident that occurred Tuesday evening.

Police were called to Husson Avenue on Wednesday after reports of a man suffering a gunshot wound, and they found Lowe, who had died from his injuries.

Police said a person of interest was taken into custody, but no arrests have been made at this time.

Police are still actively investigating and ask ayone who has any additional information about the incident to reach out to Lt. Lee with the Criminal Investigations Bureau at 386-329-0115.
