JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 35-year-old man from Middleburg died after a two-vehicle crash early Saturday on eastbound Normandy Boulevard near Carter Landing Boulevard, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Officials said at about 1:47 a.m., two sedans were traveling east when the front vehicle approached the rear of the second vehicle and failed to slow down, striking it from behind.

The impact caused the lead vehicle to overturn. The second vehicle rotated onto the right shoulder and struck a chain-link fence. The driver of the first vehicle was taken to a local hospital, where he died.
A 37-year-old woman from Orlando, a passenger in the first vehicle, and the 41-year-old Jacksonville man driving the second vehicle were not reported to have serious injuries, FHP said.
The crash remains under investigation FHP said.
