Royal Princess yacht offers public, private charters on the St. Johns River

Free tours also available each month on the Southbank of Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – No, it’s not Shad Khan’s yacht you see docked on the Southbank of Jacksonville. It’s the Royal Princess, and you don’t have to be a millionaire to travel in a yacht along the St. Johns River between the Southbank and downtown.

Jax Yacht Charter has been offering public and private charter tours since last November. It also offers tours for holidays, like Easter.

The charter is offered by Capt. Rob Bellanich and his wife, Lezlee, joined by their crew. The yacht was recently renovated and hosts weddings, corporate events, and public tours.

Lezlee Bellanich took us on a tour of the yacht, which also features a dance floor and full bar with plenty of room for sit-down dining. There are three levels with windows that offer a spectacular view of the St. Johns River.

“On the 3rd Thursday of every month, as part of the downtown vision’s Sip and Stroll event guests can come on board for free and enjoy our cash bar onboard,” explained Bellanich. “Then at 8pm we take a tour of the St. Johns River for $35 per guest until 9,” she explained about the monthly event.

Bellanich says during their public charter events, she loves to see guests who come onboard as strangers but leave as friends after spending time together cruising on The Royal Princess.
