Cool and breezy today, some will wake up to freezing temperatures Wednesday
We are stuck in the 50s this afternoon despite all that sunshine. It is cold. So cold that frost will form tonight in areas west of the St. Johns River under the clear skies. And while temps will drop into the upper 30s around Jacksonville, we miss a freeze this time.

Hot and humid today; Itโs not feeling like Fall... yaโll
Skies are partly cloudy and some showers will develop over the next few hours. Most of us will be on the drier side around Jax with only a 30% chance of rain. Showers will stay away from the beaches and be in the inland vicinity west of the St. Johns river out and out toward highway 301. Those that develop will tend to fade after 8 pm.

Itโs a โ10โณ on the Gaughan Gauge
Itโs been a long time coming, a minor chill down. That would be for temperatures to start in the upper 50s. Not at area beaches, but along and west of the St. Johns River and I-95. Take what we can get! Additionally, we will have an extended dry period or at least 7 days. This will help out area backyards which in many cases have become somewhat water logged.

Subtle shifts in summer weather can mean a big shift
Beautiful onshore winds and upper-level winds are very light and this subtle shift will allow for I-95 thundershowers to start up rather early, say after 1 pm. These thundershowers will move very little. If you live along I-95 or just east of the St. Johns River, you will have the biggest chances of seeing rain. These rains will be heavy for a few backyards. On Tuesday, a few areas near Palatka saw more than an inch.
