St. Johns County teen arrested for bringing pellet gun to school

ST JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A 14-year-old student at Mill Creek Academy in St. Johns County was arrested Monday for possession of a weapon on school property.

According to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, the student had a CO2-powered pellet handgun on campus, which caused fear among other students. When confronted, the student placed the handgun into another student’s backpack in an apparent attempt to conceal it from law enforcement and school staff.

Deputies secured the weapon and transported the student to the St. Johns County Jail. Sheriff’s officials said there is no ongoing danger to students or staff and no threats were made. The investigation is ongoing.
