2 people seriously hurt in multi-vehicle crash on I-295 SB at Heckscher Drive

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – All lanes have reopened on Interstate 295 at Heckscher Drive after a multi-vehicle crash on Thursday morning, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department said it transported two adults with critical injuries.

A nearby traffic camera showed three badly damaged vehicles.

At one point, all lanes were shut down, and backups stretched for miles.
