The cancer fight took an unexpected turn when he couldn’t get the test he needed to pinpoint the source of the cancer and to track its spread. The insurance company blocked pre-approval for the procedure. It’s a problem all too common when these insurance companies think they know better than the doctor and deem important tests “not a medical necessity.”
