Heavy police presence at Santa Fe High due to bomb threat

Officials said students are in a safe location and the school is on lockdown.

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – Officers from the Alachua Police Department, along with assistance from the High Springs Police Department and the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, are currently on the scene at Santa Fe High School in reference to an anonymous caller reporting that a bomb had been placed at a specific location on campus, officials said.

Students have been secured in a safe location and the school has been placed on lockdown. A thorough search of the campus will be conducted with the assistance of a bomb detection K-9 from the ACSO.

This is an ongoing incident and may cause delays. No one is permitted on school property at this time. Parents are asked to stay away from the campus as we work to ensure the safety of students, staff, and first responders.
