Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville implements safety zone for swimming portion of IRONMAN race on Saturday (WJXT)
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The IRONMAN triathlon will bring thousands to Jacksonville on Saturday, prompting city officials and the U.S. Coast Guard to restrict access to a section of the St. Johns River for the 2.4-mile swimming portion of the race.
The U.S. Coast Guard of Jacksonville has implemented a safety zone that will go into effect from 7 - 11 a.m. along the St. Johns River within the following coordinates:

Neither vessels nor people will be allowed to enter the area during this time. Entry is prohibited unless otherwise authorized by the captain of the port.
