ST. JOHNS COUTY, Fla. – Three teens and a juvenile accused of burglarizing a St. Johns County vape shop were arrested.
The incident happened on April 29 at Golden Innovape on Durblin Pavilion Drive. On Tuesday, the sheriff’s office released the surveillance footage that caught the burglary in action.
According to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, around 3 a.m., a group of masked individuals threw a large piece of concrete through the business’s front window to enter the store.
The video showed three people making their way through the broken window and heading to the back of the store with what appeared to be empty book bags.
SJSO said two 17-year-olds and an 18-year-old stole merchandise and money from the register while another person waited outside of the store with a gun to keep watch.
The juvenile was also the getaway driver, according to investigators.
Deputies said the investigation led them to track down the vehicle the group used to get away, leading to the arrest of the two 17-year-olds, the 18-year-old and the juvenile.
They were all charged with criminal mischief, armed burglary and grand theft.
News4JAX is choosing not to identify the suspects due to their ages.
SJSO also believed that the group was responsible for other burglaries between Duval and St. John’s County lines.
The investigation remains active.
