Brunswick man arrested after online threat reported against upcoming public event, police say

BRUNSWICK, Ga. – Brunswick police say an arrest has been made after investigators looked into an online social media threat tied to an upcoming public event.

The Brunswick Police Department said it received information about the threat on June 9, 2026, and detectives immediately began.

Police said the Criminal Investigations Division’s work led to an arrest on June 12, 2026.

Investigators identified the suspect as Christopher Waller, 25, of Brunswick, who has been charged with Terroristic Threats, police said.

The department said it takes threats to public safety seriously and remains committed to thoroughly investigating incidents that could endanger the community.
