FHP: One dead after crash on US Highway 1

A two-vehicle crash on US Highway 1 resulted in the death of one driver after a vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP says the crash occurred near 14193 US Highway 1, when the driver of Vehicle 1 attempted to exit the property and turn left to travel southbound on US-1. In doing so, the vehicle traveled into the path of a northbound driver.

Florida Highway Patrol says the driver of Vehicle 2 sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to HCA Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The driver was later pronounced dead at the hospital, FHP confirmed.

Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
