JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police say a man is in critical condition after being found with a gunshot wound to his face early Saturday morning in Jacksonville’s Mid-Westside neighborhood.
Officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded around 12:15 a.m. to West 18th Street after a reported shooting. They found a man believed to be in his mid-20s suffering from a single gunshot wound to the face.

The victim was transported by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue to a local hospital, where his condition is listed as critical.
JSO says a person driving by in their vehicle spotted the man stumbling in the area and stopped to help. The driver called 911 and provided assistance until officers arrived. Due to the severity of his injury, the victim was unable to provide information about what happened.
Investigators believe the incident was isolated and say there is no ongoing threat to the community.
Police say there is no suspect information at the moment.
