ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A new school is preparing to open its doors in one of St. Johns County’s fastest-growing communities.
District leaders provided a first look Wednesday at Magnolia Oaks Academy, a new kindergarten-through-eighth-grade public school located in the SilverLeaf community.

The campus will welcome its first students for the 2026-2027 school year.
Magnolia Oaks Academy includes modern classrooms, a media center, a full indoor gymnasium, new playgrounds and spaces designed for collaborative learning.
The school will also offer extended-day services, advanced coursework, student leadership opportunities, clubs, athletics and extracurricular activities.
Principal Donny Hoessler said families in the community are excited to have a neighborhood school closer to home and to help create traditions from the very beginning.
Magnolia Oaks is one of two new K-8 academies opening in St. Johns County this school year. The district now serves more than 52,600 students across 54 schools.
District leaders say the new campuses are part of an ongoing effort to keep pace with rapid population growth while maintaining strong academic performance and expanding specialized learning opportunities.
Magnolia Oaks Academy is located at 800 Courtney Vista Drive in St. Augustine.
