A Gainesville man is heading to federal prison for nearly 15 years after robbing two Kay Jewelers stores and a Value Pawn shop across North Central Florida.
Michael Woulard, 50, was sentenced to 14 years and 10 months in federal prison for robbery and brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a violent crime. Woulard pleaded guilty March 16, 2026.

Three robberies in four months
Court documents show Woulard carried out three armed robberies between October 2023 and February 2024.
On Oct. 10, 2023, Woulard robbed a Value Pawn shop in Jacksonville, stealing goods valued at approximately $45,945.
On Nov. 25, 2023, Woulard robbed a Kay Jewelers store in Jacksonville, brandishing a semi-automatic pistol at employees and stealing jewelry valued at approximately $352,623.66.
On Feb. 20, 2024, Woulard robbed a Kay Jewelers store in Ocala, again brandishing a semi-automatic pistol at employees and stealing jewelry valued at approximately $364,752.56.
Arrested with stolen goods, admitted to robberies
Woulard was arrested the day after the Ocala robbery — Feb. 21, 2024 — while in possession of numerous stolen items from that third heist.
During a voluntary interview with investigators from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and the Ocala Police Department, Woulard admitted to committing the jewelry store robberies.
Restitution ordered
In addition to his prison sentence, Woulard was ordered to pay $442,582.59 in restitution to the victims.
