Federal charges to be announced against violent drug trafficking organization in Northeast Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Federal, state and local law enforcement officials are set to hold a press conference Monday in Jacksonville to announce federal charges against members of a violent drug trafficking organization operating in northeast Florida.

U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe of the Middle District of Florida is scheduled to lead the announcement at 1:30 p.m. at the United States Courthouse on Hogan Street.

Joining Kehoe will be Christopher Whitley, Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration; Shawn Coarsey, Undersheriff of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office; and Jon Hooper, Undersheriff of the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials plan to announce the unsealing of a federal indictment related to a violent drug trafficking organization with ties to northeast Florida.
