Multiple people detained after fatal stabbing near downtown Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man died on Saturday after he was stabbed near downtown Jacksonville.

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office patrol officers responded just before 8 p.m. to the 2300 block of Davis Road in the Hogan’s Creek neighborhood after reports of a stabbing. The exact location was not disclosed. Officers arrived to find a man with a stab wound and took him to a local hospital where he died.

Homicide detectives, crime scene investigators and representatives from the State Attorney’s Office are now working to determine the circumstances surrounding the deadly incident. Multiple people have been detained and are being interviewed as part of the investigation.

Authorities are working with the Medical Examiner’s Office, and the official classification of the incident remains pending. Investigators are also working to get surveillance video and speak with any witnesses.
