JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – A man was found dead beneath the Jacksonville Beach pier after police responded to a reported disturbance nearby late Wednesday night, according to police.
Jacksonville Beach police responded to the pier around 9:50 p.m. after someone reported a disturbance in the area. When officers arrived, they found the man beneath the pier.

Police spokeswoman Sgt. Tonya Tator confirmed the man’s death and the location but released few additional details.
The man’s identity and the circumstances surrounding his death have not been released.
Police are expected to provide more information later today. This is a developing story.
