JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A math teacher at Darnell-Cookman School of the Medical Arts was arrested Friday in connection with an investigation involving alleged offenses against students, according to Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office jail records and a message sent to families.
In a message to families, Darnell-Cookman Principal Paul Davis said the arrest followed an active investigation by DCPS Police and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

“Because the investigation is ongoing, I am limited in the information I can share at this time,” Davis said. “However, I will continue to communicate with our school community as additional verified information becomes available and when appropriate.”
Davis said school officials are cooperating with law enforcement and that the safety and well-being of students and staff remain the school’s highest priority.
Orr faces three felony charges:
- Offenses against students by an authority figure, a second-degree felony
- Lewd and lascivious touching of a victim who is 16 or 17 years old by a person 24 or older, a third-degree felony
- Child abuse, a third-degree felony
